Hatha Yoga offers a series of poses focused on stretching and twisting, laying the foundation for various yoga practices. It combines physical postures (asanas) with breath control (pranayama), preparing the body for meditation and enhancing awareness.
Benefits: As one of the oldest yoga styles, Hatha Yoga reduces stress, calms the mind, and is especially helpful for anxiety and depression. It improves muscle tone, flexibility, and joint health, making it perfect for beginners. Classes are slower-paced, allowing for longer holds in poses, which promotes mindfulness and relaxation. This traditional practice links movement with breath, fostering strength and flexibility.

Recognizing that asana (physical posture) is just one of the eight limbs of yoga, the class offers not only a traditional Hatha practice, but also incorporates yogic philosophy, Sanskrit chanting, a variety of mudras and pranayamas, as well as a guided meditation. Everyone at any level of experience is welcome, as you’re encouraged to honor ahimsa (non-harming) and practice at a level appropriate for the body you woke up with that day!
